We’d like to introduce you to Kim & Chuck Corliss, who recently purchased one of our brokerage listings – a Beneteau Oceanis 42 Center Cockpit.
Kim and Chuck started sailing together in 2012 on Lake Superior, and quickly fell in love with the adventure of being on a remote piece of the world and staying on board a sailboat overnight..better than camping, they say, and enjoying the wilderness while creating delicious food, drinking wine, and watching the sunset over Gitche Gumme.
They soon realized their old boat, the Pocatito, wasn’t going to work for them as they aged and decided to get a newer boat with more features to help them sail for many years to come. They selected the Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 42CC that Tim (Fulbright) had posted on YachtWorld after looking at them while at the Annapolis Boat Show in October 2017. They concluded that the center cockpit on Lake Superior would be much nicer due to the wave height and colder waters. They also liked the bow thruster, the windlass, generator, and other amenities like heat and hot water too!
They are sailing their new boat, “La Rive Nord” from Kenosha, Wisconsin, back to their homeport of Lutsen, Minnesota, where they own and operate The North Shore Winery and the Sawtooth Mountain Cider House – www.northshorewinery.us.
You can follow the Adventures of La Rive Nord here.
Every day that we’ve sailed since leaving Kenosha, Chuck says over and over, what a nice boat! And he now mentions going to Bora Bora – whoa!
